\u201cmaking\u201d, from the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ars<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Sanskrit origin to the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tekn\u00e9<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">poisies<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the Greeks&#8230; To make, to build, to create&#8230; <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">However, reality is always complex and contradictions and opposites end up merging into <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">a new order. Thesis, antithesis and synthesis. Like the traditional structure of the story, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">order, disorder and return to order, affirmation and denial are powerful instruments to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">construct a new reality. Doing and undoing are inevitable phases of the same process <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that is no longer monotonous, continuous, linear or simple. Everything is related to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">everything else and it is through the part (the fragment, the vestige, the remains) that we <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">can allude to and intuit the whole. In the same way that we can induce eternity through<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">actions inevitably limited in time. A paradoxical formula that Xavier Monsalvatje has been <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">practicing with results that are as outstanding as they are surprising.<\/span>[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8217;10&#8217; down=&#8217;10&#8217;]<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Space ant time are the existencial parameters in which we move. Arts of space and arts <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of time. For centuries this radical division has governed for centuries that artificial, such a <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">human &#8211; especially in its rationally cerebral drift &#8211; belief in outright affirmation or denial.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8217;10&#8217; down=&#8217;10&#8217;]Positive or negative, black or white, good or bad, true or false, innocent or guilty. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">However, a complexity analysis leads us to the conclusion that things are and are not at <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the same time and that spatial artistic manifestations are also temporary works. How can <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the viewer enjoy these works without reliving their memories, without confronting here <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and now the present of contemplation with the past of memory?<\/span>[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8217;10&#8217; down=&#8217;10&#8217;]<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">its<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">essential<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">materiality,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ceramic<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">work<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">constitutes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">a<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">plastic<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">manifestation<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">profound temporality. What we see and have before our eyes is a transmutation (forgive <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the alchemist\u2019s terminology) of something that was but has disappeared, leaving the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">physical vestige of a past time.<\/span>[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8217;10&#8217; down=&#8217;10&#8217;]<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Construction\/destruction, space\/time. In a very succinct, roughly schematic way, I have <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tried to introduce those two dialectics that undoubtedly animate and dynamically stress <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Xavier Monsalvatje\u2019s ceramic production. Space and time that, let us not forget, are the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">coordinates that constitute the permanent crossroads of life.
