He chose ceramics because, at the time, he was working in a ceramics factory and collaborating in the workshop of his brother Jorge, also a ceramist and ceramics professor at the Manises School of Ceramics. His teacher, Enric Mestre, was the head of the ceramics department.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>After completing his studies, he received a European Union scholarship to expand his knowledge of ceramics in Caldas de Rainha, Portugal. In 1989, he was invited to the crea- tive ceramics course at the Manises School of Ceramics. He is a founding member of the Purgatori Society of Artists, established in 1996 and of the association.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; row_type=&#8221;row&#8221; use_row_as_full_screen_section=&#8221;no&#8221; type=&#8221;grid&#8221; angled_section=&#8221;no&#8221; text_align=&#8221;left&#8221; background_image_as_pattern=&#8221;without_pattern&#8221; z_index=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]Since 1992, his work has been divided between ceramics, painting, graphic art, drawing, and installation, focusing on the study of industrial architecture, urban planning, and social criticism. He emphasizes the use of traditional ceramic techniques in the development of some of his projects.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>He has received scholarships from public and private institutions, including the Bornholm Kunstmuseum in Denmark , the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei, Taiwan, Fuled International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) in Fuping, Xian, China , the Clay Studio in Philadelphia , the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee , the University of Chico in California , the Kohler Art Center&#8217;s Art\/Industry program in Sheboygan, Wisconsin , and The Wedge Ce- ramic Studio in Reno, Nevada, USA , the Kale Group ceramics company in Canakkale, Turkey , the Sargadelos porcelain factory in Lugo , the Conseller\u00eda de Cultura de la Generalitat Valenciana in Spain , and the Centro Nacional de Arte Cer\u00e1mico in Sidi Kacem J\u00e9lizi , as well as a scholarship from the Spanish Embassy in Tunisia, among others.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>He recently received a scholarship from the Taoxichuan Art Center in Jingdezhen, China, and in 2025, he will travel to Foshan, Guangdong Province, China, as a guest artist at Xingguang Art Base to carry out a specific project.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, he won first prize at the 9th European Ceramics Biennial at the Ceramics Museum in Manises, Valencia, and the Ministry of Culture awarded him a scholarship to travel to China.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, he was named a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), based in Geneva, Switzerland.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, a portion of his project &#8220;En Peligro Permanente&#8221; was exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris as part of the Revelations Fair, supported by a scholarship from the Fundesarte Foundation.[vc_separator type=&#8217;transparent&#8217; position=&#8217;center&#8217; color=&#8221; thickness=&#8221; up=&#8221; down=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, he will be presented with the National Prize for Contemporary Creative Ceramics, awarded by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities, at the Alc\u00e1zares in Seville.
